New Dawn

She and I have this nickname game.
First started with N.A.M.,
expanded to 'maneater',
warned her prey
but they didn't want to believe her,
not until it was too late,
and the only difference between me and the "Crocodile Hunter"
was he got his stuff on tape,
melodic voice,
sensual smile
that drove men wild,
to the point that they couldn't contain themselves,
an outer shell
hiding the secrets of a woman scorned,
born not to know,
not to show
emotion,
because once you're open,
you're vulnerable...
and that's when they can hurt you,
that's when they get control,
battered and bruised her soul,
3/4's from being whole
but the quarter had a hole in it,
still tried to spend it,
had to get her hustle on,
raise 3 children alone,
moans
turned into cries,
cries into weeping,
endured for more than one night
but the morning light
cleared her sight
and she saw herself,
for the first time,
through HIS eyes,
and what you see now,
is the new nickname: W.O.W.

The above poem is my testimony.  It was written by a dear friend of mine.  When he sent it to me, I almost cried!  I was so overwhelmed with joy because I was instantly reminded of what God has done in my life and how much He’s transformed me.  Years ago, I never thought I could or would be such a righteous woman of God.  I thought I was so wretched that God just didn’t want to deal with me or hear what I had to say.  I thought His power wasn’t enough to clean me up.  Satan had me convinced that I was always going to be wretched.  Oh, how wrong was I!
To those reading this article and may be feeling this way, let me speak to your heart and your spirit.  Jesus' blood covers ALL!  There is not anything God can’t or won’t forgive.  I urge you to let God show you who you are in HIS eyes.  You are so beautiful to Him.  You are fearfully and wonderfully made.   It’s never too late for God to work in your life.  Stand up, step into His fullness and watch His glory consume and transform your life so you can become a Woman of the Word!

  1. Awesome post! The poem was very endearing as well. I've been here, often. Not feeling worthy of God's love. I'm so thankful for God's mercy.

  2. Today, I learned that God does not find fault with me so why should I find fault with myself? THIS is what stops me from moving forward to greater things in Him.

  3. Wow! This was wonderful to read!! Living without hope leads to a very dark place. I am praising God that you found Solace in Him!

  5. Once again, honored to have a "front row seat" to watch GOD do what he "does" in your life. Nothing short of miraculous. To GOD be the glory...
